表参道の緑豊かなスタンドアロンのイタリアンレストラン。窯焼きピザと愛されるテラス。
Set in a white, flower-bedecked standalone house just three minutes from Omotesando station, Omotesando bamboo is one of the neighbourhood's most enduring Italian restaurants. It began life as a sandwich house in the late 1970s and was fully renovated in 2005 into a full-service dining destination with a leafy terrace, an open kitchen and a wood-fired stone oven imported from Naples. The guiding philosophy, dubbed "bambooizm," centres on warm hospitality for every guest who crosses the threshold. The menu spans Neapolitan wood-fired pizza, pasta such as lobster linguine, aqua pazza and roast chicken, with an emphasis on fresh seafood delivered daily from the harbour and seasonal produce from contracted farms. A second-floor private room accommodates groups of 10 to 30, while a basement banquet hall can host up to 96 for parties and events with a grand piano. Reservations are available online, and the terrace is particularly popular for lunch and garden-style gatherings. With its blend of long-standing charm, garden-side seating and proper Italian cooking, Omotesando bamboo remains a favourite for everything from a casual cafe stop to a celebratory dinner. It is a green, gracious constant in one of Tokyo's most fashionable districts.
