Occupying the rooftop level of the architecturally bold Tokyu Plaza Omotesando building, known as Omokado, the cafe offers one of the most photogenic coffee breaks in all of Tokyo. The terrace seating provides sweeping views of the Omotesando and Meiji-dori intersection, making it a favourite spot for people-watching and soaking in the energy of Harajuku. The interior design draws inspiration from the building's distinctive chevron-patterned facade, with warm timber, generous glazing and abundant greenery creating a calm retreat above the bustling streets below. The full Starbucks menu is available, including Japan-exclusive seasonal drinks and merchandise that make popular souvenirs. Seating is plentiful but the terrace tables fill up fast, particularly around sunset. Access is via the plaza's dramatic entrance staircase, which is something of a landmark in its own right. The cafe can get extremely busy during peak tourist hours, so visiting mid-morning or mid-afternoon offers a more relaxed experience. It is also a handy meeting point, as the building sits right at the gateway between Omotesando and Harajuku.
