Harajuku Okonomiyaki Yai-yai serves up hearty Osaka-style okonomiyaki in a relaxed, informal setting just a short walk from the main Harajuku drag. The restaurant specialises in the classic savoury pancake loaded with cabbage, meat or seafood, and topped with that unmistakable combination of sweet sauce, mayonnaise and bonito flakes.Diners can choose to cook their okonomiyaki on the built-in teppan griddle at their table, which is half the fun, or hand the reins to the kitchen staff if you prefer to sit back. The menu also features yakisoba, monjayaki and a small selection of sides and drinks, making it easy to build a satisfying meal without overcomplicating things.
The atmosphere is lively and family-friendly, with booth seating that works well for groups. Reservations are not typically required on weekdays, but expect a queue during peak evening hours and at weekends. It is cash-friendly but check current payment options before you visit.

I’ve been living in Japan for 6 months and this is officially the best food I’ve had yet. Every dish was so cozy, flavorful, and made with so much love. And the handmade lemon sour?? Life-changing. Bright, refreshing, and honestly… I’m still thinking about it. 🍋✨ If you go, order the lemon sour twice. Trust me. 💛
