The Meiji Jingu Autumn Grand Festival runs 1–3 November 2026. 3 November is Culture Day and the Meiji Emperor’s birthday, the example festival. Meiji Jingu Sukeikai posted the public hoshuku list on 7 September 2026. Older English listings that put noh on 1 November and bugaku on 2 November are wrong for this year.
31 October, Saturday, 11:00: bugaku on the shrine stage. 1 November: chinza memorial rite 10:00 (Sukeikai members by district), hogaku and buyo 12:00, sankyoku 15:45. 2 November: noh and kyogen 11:45. 3 November: example festival 10:00; national kyudo at Shiseikan second kyudojo 09:00; aikido on Nishi-sando lawn 09:00; kobudo 10:00 same lawn; momote 11:00 east of the Treasure Museum; yabusame 13:00 Nishi-sando lawn; satsuma biwa 15:00 at the outer haiden. Weather can stop viewing.
The forest is the Harajuku side of the shrine, not Meiji Jingu Gaien in Minato. Yabusame is a crush. Arrive before 13:00 if that is the reason you came. Same afternoon, Yoyogi Central Lawn has free jazz until 15:00. Different gate. A tanka gathering on 18 October at Sanshuden already passed as a hoshuku event. Grounds follow sunset close; late November walks end earlier than summer.

Yabusame is the crush. The lawn is Nishi-sando, not the main gravel.
流鏑馬が混む。芝は西参道で、本参道の砂利ではない。
